Carbon Monoxide Safety

Read On......This is critical, it could save your life or that of your loved ones.

Carbon Monoxide poisoning doesn't just affect Gas Appliances, it also applies equally to wood burners and open fires.

Please check out http://www.carbonmonoxidesafety.org.uk/

We have 100 Carbon Monoxide detectors to provide to our customers completely FREE. Households in receipt of low income benefits where there are people over 65 years old, children under five, pregnant women or someone with chronic illness or disability are particularly the focus for this programme.

If you are reading this and are not one of our customers, BUY ONE ANYWAY. They are only about thirty pounds and last 7 years.

First things first. 80% of homes don't have a CO detector, far more have smoke detectors. As CO is tasteless, odourless and completely undetectable to the human senses this is putting 20 million households at risk. It is relatively easy to both minimise the risks from poisoning and detect its presence. We are therefore proactively working to help our customers improve their awareness of CO throughout 2015.

RoSPA are carefully monitoring us as we operate the "Be Gas Safe Programme" so please help us to meet the requirements set by RoSPA by responding to any follow up checks from them.

www.rospa.com also spells out why CO awareness is vital in homes.

Gas Safe principles of safety apply similarly to solid fuel appliances; Wood Burners and Open Fires produce combustion gasses and require maintenance and inspection. Your professional Chimney Sweep will be able to help you with this, yet another reason to get your chimney swept regularly.

What do you need to do? Nothing at all. If you are a current customer re booking or if you are a new custom we looking to book a sweep then this benefit will come as part and parcel of the service you will receive from us, that's it, simples!
